BSS A321 Reloaded CFM

This sound pack contains 13,891 lines of code and over 1,400 sound locations, totaling 1.5 GB of authentic sound captured from a real A321 using professional equipment and the expertise of pilots and ground personnel. Built on physics-based modeling, it features adaptive sound that responds not only to the systems and engine actions but also to environmental and other contextual factors.

Developed by a real-world pilot and musician with deep knowledge of translating auditory perceptions into speaker output, the sound locations are precisely placed with accurate attenuation and directional cones.

CFM56 Engine Sounds:

• Sounds differ inside and outside the aircraft, offering a 360-degree experience at every point within and around the plane. The physics-based design ensures high-pitch noises travel slower in the cockpit, with additional effects from air rush and ground proximity.
• Real engine samples produce accurate thrust-dependent sounds. Bass vibrations are noticeable when the aircraft is airborne, particularly at high N1% when vibrations transfer to the fuselage.
• Engine sounds change with speed, altitude, and blade angle, becoming quieter at higher altitudes with less dense air.
• Includes precise engine startup, shutdown, reverse, and air rush during spool sounds.
• The turbulent engine roar is prominent from the rear and partially audible in the front when gear doors are open near the ground.
• The distinctive CFM56 whine varies with the angle of attack, diminishing with increased speed and altitude.

Systems:

• Comprehensive system sounds include detailed audio for keel outflow valves, PTU modes, ventilation systems, cabin and galley fans, toilet fans, hydraulic systems (Y, G, B), electrical systems, APU, brake fan, wing pumps, and packs.
• Cockpit mechanical sounds cover selectors, switches, pushbuttons, levers, autopilot disconnect/connect actuators, door clicks, seat motors, oxygen system hisses, hand rests, cockpit door sounds, throttle quadrants, flap levers, gear levers, FCU buttons, switches, dials, wiper positions, spoiler levers, and more.
• Surrounding ambiance captures wind and turbulence effects on various surfaces, rain sounds varying with intensity and speed, external rain, street and airport noise, fuselage airflow, and turbulence during takeoff, landing, and turns.

Mechanical Items:

• Includes sounds for opening and closing all doors, flap motor transitions, parking brake application, brake motor bumps, PTU operation sounds, and reset sounds.

Vibrations and Ground Effects:

• Main and nose gear touchdown sounds vary with landing softness/hardness, with over 20 samples for each gear. Easter eggs reward record smooth landings, as well as the hardest ones.
• Features gear vibrations, bumps, shakes, rattles, flap-bouncing sounds, main panel rattling, centerline and nose gear bumps and touches, concrete rolling and rumbling sounds, and rubber vibrations.

People:

• Boarding, walking, and seatbelt-clicking sounds vary according to the flight stage.
• Flight attendant announcements and actions are included for the boarding, inflight, and deboarding phases.
• The sound pack offers four airline options, with a manual for adding custom airlines. Seatbelt sign-dependent sounds include occasional toilet flushes and seatbelt clicks.
