Brief the jet before you step into it.
The DWSim Mission Editor turns mission planning into part of the sim. Instead of scribbling coordinates on a kneeboard or fumbling with cockpit data entry after start-up, you build the entire flight in a purpose-made 2-D tactical editor and hand it to the aircraft — start position, route, targets, threats and radios, all at once.
Drop waypoints by clicking a moving map drawn from real navigation data. Set your home base(departure), destination and alternate by ICAO. Lay out any number of navigation steering points according to the loaded aircraft type with exact latitude, longitude and altitude, flag the ones that are targets, and mark hostile SAM sites with realistic threat-radius rings. Fill the cockpit's comms and navigation stack in advance (UHF(X-Plane currently supports ONLY VHF so the UHF frequencies should be put as VHF), VHF, backup, TACAN and ILS presets) so the avionics are configured the moment you sit down.
When the plan is ready, one click loads it into the supported aircraft as a Data Tape Cartridge (DTC). Save missions as files to fly again later, share with friends, or copy between installs. The editor ships with a full User Manual and an open Developer SDK so third-party aircraft developers can make their airframes Mission-Editor-Ready(M.E.R.).
Built on the SASL runtime and rendered as a clean, distraction-free 2-D panel, the Mission Editor runs on the same three platforms X-Plane does and stays out of your way until you need it.
Key features
-
Live moving-map planning: click to drop and drag waypoints over accurate terrain, with airports, navaids, VOR/DME, VORTAC, TACAN, NDB, ILS and fixes.
-
Precise steerpoints: any number of navigation steering points according to the loaded aircraft type with exact latitude, longitude and altitude; reorder, rename, delete, and flag any point as a target.
-
Departure & bases: set ground or air starts, cold or running engines, and home / destination / alternate airfields by ICAO.
-
Threats & targets : mark hostile units and SAM sites with realistic threat-radius rings; inspect any unit for position, heading, speed and altitude.
-
Full comms & nav pre-load: UHF and VHF presets plus backup, TACAN and ILS, ready before engine start.(X-Plane currently supports ONLY VHF so the UHF frequencies should be put as VHF)
-
One-click delivery to the cockpit (DTC): send the complete package to the aircraft, or auto-load it on mission start.
-
Save, load & share missions: missions are portable files you can archive, reuse or send to friends.
-
Navigraph or X-Plane maps: use Navigraph enroute chart tiles (optional subscription) or the built-in X-Plane terrain map, day or night.
Multi-aircraft support: includes profiles for aircraft such as the F-16 Block 52+, Viggen SF37 and M-346, with more added through updates.
Developer SDK included: an open configuration schema and DTC protocol let aircraft developers make their add-ons tape-ready.
-
Cross-platform: Windows, macOS and Linux, matching X-Plane 12.
