The Eagle County Regional Airport is a public airport in Gypsum, Colorado, and serves primarily as a major gateway to the ski resorts of Vail and Beaver Creek. It is located about 4 miles from the town of Eagle and roughly 37 miles from Vail, at an elevation of about 6,547 feet above sea level.
The airport has a single asphalt runway about 9,000 feet long and a terminal with multiple gates, and its flight schedule varies significantly by season, especially in winter. Handling several hundred thousand passengers each year. KEGE is one of the most important regional airports in the Rocky Mountains.
In addition to scheduled airline service, general aviation—including business and private jets—plays a significant role. Because the airport sits in a narrow valley surrounded by high mountains, arrivals and departures are considered challenging and require careful flight planning.
