Offshore oil rigs around the world come in all shapes, sizes, and conditions. Some are brand new and freshly painted, while others are weathered, discolored, and covered with years of rust and wear. This package brings that natural variation to the offshore world of X-Plane.
Featuring 20 highly detailed PBR models, this scenery adds significant visual variety and graphical detail to offshore installations around the globe. Particular attention has been given to the distinctive metallic appearance of offshore rigs—massive structures of steel floating in the open sea—making full use of X-Plane’s lighting, material, and visual effects.
Every platform features 4K textures, dynamic lighting, particle effects, flares, and fully functional helipads. The scenery has been built using multiple optimized components to provide excellent visual detail while remaining performance-friendly.
The package can be used together with the free OSM Offshore Oil-Rigs package to populate offshore installations across the X-Plane world. The database has been carefully cleaned to prevent overlapping installations; duplicate or excessively close locations that could result in overlapping rigs have been removed.
