The SA315B Lama is a light multi-role helicopter. It was developed by the French manufacturer Sud Aviation (later Aérospatiale, now Airbus Helicopters) for the Indian Air Force. It was to be designed primarily for use in particularly high and hot environments. The result was a helicopter with impressive performance values for that time. This helicopter weighs only 1021 kg when empty, but with a maximum take-off weight of 1950 kg it is still able to hover freely in the air at an altitude of 4600. It is therefore not surprising that this helicopter was able to hold the absolute altitude world record from 1972 to 2002 with a flight altitude of 12442 meters.

-> * including native arm-architecture chips (like M1 or M2) with one little incompatibility: The camera movement plugin for the soft look-ahead-effects called Gforce is a gift from Conex (Dreamfoil Helicopters) and not compiled for arm-architecture. The Lama itself uses only X-Plane 12 native xLua scripts and should run fine without the use of rosetta. But because of missing hardware I was not able to test this yet!
-> ** The Lama is labeled as beta during the XP12 beta run. I can’t guarantee for some XP12 updates to not break the Helicopter. If this happens the Lama will be patched as soon as possible.
