The actual plane I was using as reference was flow by Herbert Gilles Watson (see History chapter), one of the most famous Sopwith Camel pilots in history.
I built up this project because I’m a real-life pilot and I was curious on the flight characteristics and “feeling” of flying such a unique aircraft. In the VR era, flight simulation became so realistic that it can be a direct comparison to real life experiences…
This is a robust simulation model which is making use of X-Plane 12 sophisticated flight dynamics and physics simulation, extracting it to its limits. Flight characteristics fine-tuned based on historic reports and reports of some nowadays old-timer pilots. The sound environment is based on available real-life recordings to increase immersion to the maximum.
